Meet Ami

Aminata Diallo — Ami — is a clinical social worker, poet, painter, and kombucha brewer exploring what it means to live slowly, honestly, and intentionally.

She spent her 20s surviving and documenting. Ami spent her 20s in two places at once: on a crisis counselling line, listening to people talk themselves back from the edge, and in her journal, doing much the same thing for herself.

There was a decade of higher education, crisis mental health work, personal upheaval, relationships that didn't hold, identities that needed dismantling, and beliefs about herself and others that had to be unlearned. Through all of it, she wrote.

Not because she knew anyone would read it. Writing was simply how she processed being alive. Years later, those journals began to look different. What once felt like a collection of messy, private moments became something else: a record of how healing actually happened.

3 Ways of Paying Attention

Ami's work focuses on slowing down, paying attention and living life to its fullest

01 — Healing

A clinical-but-human exploration of mental health, personal history, thought patterns, and the long, imperfect process of becoming more whole.

02 —Art

Poems, paintings, drawings, journals, and other creative work — much of it created privately over years and now slowly finding its way into the world.

03 — The Brew

Small-batch kombucha made by hand in Dallas, TX. A physical expression of the same philosophy: patience, process, craft, and making something alive with your hands.

What HatiSoma Does

This deserves its own section because the name has a genuinely strong story.

An antidote to the noise. The name HatiSoma comes from two places. Soma refers to the numbing drug in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World — something used to escape discomfort rather than sit with it.

Hati is the Fulani word for antidote. Together, the name expresses the central tension behind the brand: In a world designed to keep you distracted, what might you choose instead? For HatiSoma, the answer is not another form of escape.

What HatiSoma Invites

If the world is constantly giving us reasons to look away, HatiSoma asks us to look closer.

To sit with the moment instead of rushing past it. To make something with our hands. To notice what we're feeling. To choose depth over distraction, presence over performance, and a life that feels meaningful over one that simply looks good.

HatiSoma isn't about escaping the world. It's about being fully here for it. It's about finding what feels real to you and creating a life that reflects it — quietly, imperfectly, and on your own terms.
